À propos
On 1 September 1939 the German battleship Schleswig-Holstein opened fire on the small Polish garrison guarding a depot on Westerplatte, which held out for seven days. Ruined guardhouses and a towering monument to the defenders of the coast stand at the site today.
Meilleur moment pour y aller: Take the tourist boat from the old town in summer and walk the trail to the monument.
